Upcoming Event: Social Justice Forum on Gun Control and Violence

The Child Welfare Learning Community, Community Organizing Learning Community, and the Student Union are cohosting a forum about the policies and national developments related to Gun Control Reform.

Susan Morrel-Samuels, Managing Director of the Michigan Youth Violence Prevention Center,  will be speaking as  a member of an expert panel along with  SSW faculty, and community representatives to discuss the developments, the impact it has on social work practice and education, and work with attendees to develop policy recommendations.

 When: Friday February 22, 2013, 9AM-10:30AM

  1. This is a great opportunity for the youth to be informed on gun control. I believe in educating kids so it will prevent any violent action in the future. I wish we had more panels in orange county so more kids would be aware of gun violence. The youth seem to be very uneducated on what really can happen by using a gun. Also, the consequences that will effect the rest of their life.
