Property Maintenance Observation Tool (PMOT)
The Property Maintenance Observation Tool (PMOT) was developed to assess property maintenance as part of the overall evaluation for the Michigan YVPC. Several of our programs involve neighborhood improvement projects and this evaluation will help us understand if these neighborhood improvement projects make a difference in how other neighbors take care of their properties. The PMOT looks at indicators such as fire damage, broken windows, boarded windows, landscaping, mowing and maintenance, litter and trash.
These assessments began in July 2011 and were conducted every summer for the next 5 years.
These assessments will help us to track any changes in the neighborhoods after improvement projects have been completed.
