The Michigan Youth Violence Prevention Center (MI-YVPC),  based at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, along with its community partners, Church Without Walls and Boys and Girls Club of Greater Flint will be hosting the Safe and Health Futures Youth Festival on Saturday, June 9th from 12:00 pm- 3:00 pm. It will be held at the Durant-Tuuri-Mott Elementary School, located at 1518 University Avenue in Flint.

The Safe and Healthy Futures Youth Festival will be featuring performances by: Raise it Up! Youth Arts and Awareness, Gamma Delta Kudos & Kappa Leadership League, and Boys and Girls Club Youth.  Safe & Healthy Futures Youth Festival will also provide the opportunity to create and record music with BangTown’s Mobile Studio on the Go.  Youth can also be interviewed on camera at the Youth Video booth.  There will be a bounce house and face painting for younger children.

Families with youth between the ages of 10 and 17 are especially encouraged to attend this festival and learn about free youth programs such as, Youth Empowerment Solutions, Fathers & Sons, and Targeted Outreach Mentoring. Other opportunities to learn about free summer programs and services will also be available at the festival. The Safe and Healthy Futures performances and activities are free.
